Better Late Than Never?

It took me long enough, but I finally finished this little bag. It's about time! I started it at the end of March as a birthday gift for someone special, but it's taken me until now to finally get it completed. It was those blasted little handles that hung me up. I've used this pattern before, so I knew that the process of making the handles would be tedius and time consuming. I guess that's why I put off finishing the bag until now.

I really like the way that it turned out. I used the Country Tote pattern by Indygo Junction. The little rectangles were cut from a Chocolat charm pack and since I was able to cut two pieces from each charm, I have enough to make another bag. With a different type of handle, of course. lol!!! My friend, Amy, made me a bag using this pattern a couple of Christmases ago and I use it all the time! It's the prefect size for those days when you're on the go.

So, now it's time to fess up...
Do you have a project that you've put off finishing for way too long?

  1. Oh - you betcha *s* It has happened in the past and it's happening right now. 'Secret Deadline Project' had had a known deadline for some time now. Yet I waited until a week before panic set in to begin. Still working diligently a little each day, but coming to terms with the fact that it most likely will not meet the deadline *oops*

  2. I really don't have a project that's been sitting around too long, I've managed to finish most of them this year1 I am moving very slowly on my Yellow Rose Applique...it seems to take a back seat to everything else I need to do.

    I love the bag!

  3. Of course.....one of my good friends used all last summer to only work on projects she had already started. I couldn't believe how many things she got done. I was thinking of doing the same thing this summer, but just yesterday I started a completely new quilt. Old habits are hard to break.

  4. What a darling bag! I love it. I probably won't get together with you and Jodi afterall. That week is nuts for me. I'm doing trunk shows and taking a class. My kids have basketball camp that week too. Summer is crazy!

  11. What an adorable bag! I was looking at the handles, trying to figure out why they are such a pain - all I can see is that they are cute, cute, cute! Love the stitching you did on the bag, too!
Of course I have MANY, many, many projects I have put off finishing for a very, very long time. They are packed away, just waiting for me to pick them up again.

  12. You mean the "weekender" totes that were supposed to be done for the teachers at the end of the school year ;)....yep they're still here...but the teachers each got a lap quilt. Probably more work but less complicated for my little ol' mind

  13. I found you by way of Freda's Hive, and I just love your blog! That bag is the cutest thing ever! I love the handles with the buttons. Are the buttons just there for show, or are they functional?

  15. I love your blog! I stumbled across it and now it is on my favorites.
To answer your question, yes, I have a few of unfinished projects (I guess I have a focusing problem). BUT, I have been doing better recently. I have a goal to finish one "old" quilt project every couple of months.

  18. What a darling bag! I like that you have enough to make a second one - and you both can be twinzies.

I have so many projects I've been putting off. I'd really like to go on a quilt retreat for an entire month (with regular visits from my family sprinkled in).
