Happy Birthday, Susie!

Saturday was the birthday of my bagel breakfast buddy, Susie. We go to Einstein Bros. Bagels twice a week for breakfast, with two more friends, after we take our kids to school. I wanted to make something fun for Susie's special day since on the day before her birthday she underwent a little foot surgery. Don't you think this pattern is cute? I made veiw "E" pictured in the lower right hand corner. I've gotta admit that the fabric is pretty darn bright, but I thought that Susie would look down right adorable wearing this apron in her bright yellow kitchen. Not to mention that it matches her hot pink cast!!!
Wow! It's been a long time since I've actually cut out a tissue pattern. I definitely prefer using my rotary cutter and mat.
Ahhh...look how sweet! (Blondie was a little bugged that I made her model it around her actual waist and not around her hips.) Didn't that turn out cute? I think I'll make one for myself!

  1. Dadgummit!

Now I will have to dust off the sewing machine and go to that place where they sell fabric, and ....who am I kidding? I will never enjoy my apron as much as I love your talents.

This is the sweetest apron ever.

    Happy Birthday, Bagel Buddy Susie!!

  5. Oh it's just darling . . . after an entire lifetime of avoiding aprons like the plague, I'm starting to believe in their usefulness. I may just have to break down and make one or two for myself *s*

That apron is beautiful! You chose such cheerful fabrics, too!
What a blessing, you are, to your friend! And you're so obviously talented! Wow!
    I'm jealous -- yes, I know that I shouldn't be, but I am!

P.S. thanks for visiting me! Come back anytime -- though you won't see the same level of talent. I'm self taught with the sewing and um... not so good (to put it mildly!)

I, too, used to get together with my friends for bagels after we took the kids to school. We would walk for an hour and then eat bagels and drink coffee. That was a long time ago and in another state. I miss those days.

I found you through Kim's blog. I'll be back to visit you more often!
