Each morning, as part of our family ritual, we gather together for breakfast. The past few mornings I've noticed that Blondie heads straight to the family room and grabs a quilt before she sits down to eat. This morning she also grabbed a quilt for her little sister, Ballerina Girl. This is what I found on the living room floor once breakfast was over... Yes, there are bodies under those lumpy quilts. I get warm fuzzies when I see my children snuggled up in the quilts that I've made. That IS why I make them, you know! Above is a close up of Blondie (14)...
and Ballerina Girl (10.5). I can't believe that she would stick her tongue out at me!
After five minutes of coaxing the girls to get up and get dressed, Shadow is left alone to groom himself. Now who do you suppose will have to fold those quilts back up?
After enjoying bagels with my friends this morning I made a quick dash to Material Girls in South Jordan to buy some backing fabric for a quilt I'm working on. I asked nicely and the owner let me take a picture inside the shop. This is a great little shop that is bursting at the seams. They'll soon be moving the store to a larger location in the same shopping complex.
[Note to you retreaters who came to Happy Valley last fall: No, we did not visit this shop, but I promise to take you there if you'll come back to visit me!!!]
